Get ready for Kings of Tallinn 2020 – big names head to Estonia for a full week of poker action
1 year ago

We have seen some big names signing up for the festival. See who will be joining you and more than a thousand others at the tables of Kings of Tallinn next week.

We are super proud to have all the previous Kings of Tallinn Main Event champions return: Ranno Sootla (Estonia, 2015), Johan Creutz (Sweden, 2016), Matias Knaapinen (Finland, 2017), Juha Helppi (Finland, 2018), Vitalijs Zavorotnijs (Latvia, 2019).

It seems that once you get a taste of Kings of Tallinn, you cannot get enough and that is why we see so many returning players every year.

One of those regulars returning also this year is Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, Finnish player known globally for his aggressive style at the high-stakes cash tables.

Also confirmed to return is a local poker hero Markku Koplimaa, 1st in Estonian all time tournament money list, recent winner of EPT National Barcelona for €585,500.

It’s clear that Nordic’s largest poker festival attracts many of the region’s top players. With a strong list of teams already signed up for the Team Challenge we have noticed that several global poker celebrities have registered, too.

Attending, for example, is Dominik Pańka from Poland who, according to The Hendon Mob, has over $3 million in live tournament winnings, including a PCA Main Event and EPT Highroller title and several other final table appearances.

Another notable player confirmed to participate is Jason Wheeler, American pro with over $4 million in live tournament winnings and more than double that online, who already in January announced on Facebook that he had added Kings of Tallinn to his list of cannot-miss-events this year and was especially looking forward to the added excitement of our unique team challenge.

A fun-packed poker week of Kings of Tallinn 2020 is about to kick off, hosting 40 events, including the €1,100 Main Event with €500k GTD starting on Thursday and €3,000 Highroller starting on Saturday and 24/7 cash games. Team challenge events start already on Tuesday, so don’t be late to register your team.

See you on 17-23 February in Estonia at Hilton Tallinn Park & Olympic Park Casino.
